3 Resume Tips--How To Write A Good Resume

Author: hei55

Resume writing can be very hard and frustrating. Many people make lots of simple mistakes without knowing it that cost them dearly when it comes to applying for jobs. With the resume writing tips below, you can improve your resume and give yourself a better chance of getting invited for interview and offered the job.

Resume writing tip #1: Be concise and clear. Get straight to the point and don't waffle. Hiring managers have dozens (maybe even hundreds for some very popular jobs!) of resumes to read through and if yours is too long or too slow to give him the information he needs, he'll bin it. Always write clearly and explain any acronyms you're using.

Resume writing tip #2: Be specific. Not all your skills will be relevant for all jobs you're applying for. Make sure you highlight the best skills and experience that you have for each job you apply for. List your best attributes (qualifications, education, experience, etc) first so that they catch the hiring manager's eye quickly.

Resume writing tip #3: Get someone else to read over it. Your friend or family member can pretend to be a hiring manager and give a critical opinion of the quality of your resume and the layout and structure. They also help catch spelling or grammatical errors that you might miss.

Resume writing doesn't have to be difficult if you've got some proper help and advice from someone who knows what they're talking about. Jett Parker from "Rocket Powered Resumes" used to be a hiring manager so he's got a ton of inside knowledge to help you produce the perfect resume.
